i was very very very lucky to be able to interview Ellie. she is an amazing photographer and i am very honored to be doing this interview. :)
Everyone, please welcome Ellie Be! *applause* So, Ellie. How about you start by telling us about yourself.
Hi!
Well, I am 19 years old, + I am the oldest of six children. I love
Jesus. A few of my favorite things... traveling, photography,
stargazing, + journaling. :)
You seem like an AMAZING person. Am I right? Of course I am. So, I think
we all want to know about your photography. So let's start at the
basics. What/Who got you into photography?
Thank you. :) Kristen Morris (of I'm Kristen
Photography) actually got me into photography. She was my babysitter
wayyy back when, and she always brought her camera along with her when
she came over. I tried it out a few times, and loved it. So I borrowed
my mom's camera whenever I could and totally fell in love.
Well, that's really cool! Now, when did you start photography?
I launched my business in 2007, but didn't *really* become passionate about it until a few years later.
Oh wow! 6 years ago? Wow! Well, I'm glad you became passionate about it! :) How did you know that photography was right for you? Like, that you needed to do it.
It wasn't a sudden "I want to do this forever!" but more of a gradual falling in love with it.
Yeah. I get it. I felt the same way, I really liked it, but it was just a hobby. Then I actually started to get into it and I thought, I want to turn this into a business. :) Alrighty, are you a Canon girl or a Nikon chic?
Canon! :)
Oh. I'm a Nikon chic! :) What camera do
you use (and what's his/her name)? And do you like it? Or do you want a
different camera?
I use a Canon 5D, and I haven't named it yet. ;) I love it!
My
Nikon D3100 is named Mickey. Because he's red and then he has a black
lens. And I need a Mickey Mouse sticker for him, too. And then maybe
some of those Mickey hands that they sell in Disney or something. Oh!
And the Mickey ears! Okay, I'm getting off topic. Sorry. What are your
favorite types of shoots? (Mickey's are portraits, because he hasn't
shot my Uncle's engagement photos, yet. This week! Eepers!)
My favorite types of shoots are engagement shoots. But I love any lifestyle sessions. Capturing people as they are is the best.
Why are they your favorite shoots?
I love them because I love people. I love photographing connections, and love, and people in love.
Where do you like to take these kind of shoots? Like what scenery.
I like urban locations, cities etc. But I like to add a few fields and forests in there as well. :)
Lastly, what's your favorite thing about blogging?
I
love the connections that I have made. I love storytelling through
blogging. As strange as this sounds, it is a stress reliever for me. I
love sitting down and writing out my thoughts + matching them with the
pictures I've taken.
Thanks again Meena! :) No, thank you! I had so much fun!
