just so we're clear. i am being geunine, world.

"you need to learn to be more genuine. to be more you. i don't like how you're just not you." says the world. "well..." i say back. "well what? you silly little girl!" she spits in my face. "well, you obviously don't know anything about me." i spit right back into the world. "how so? you've told me everything about you. how would i not know anything about you if you told me everything?" she asks. i'm getting tired of these silly questions. i hate how the world thinks i'm not being me.

"simple." i begin. "you don't believe that i'm being real." i lick my lips and look to the ground. then i look straight into her eyes and say, "just so we're clear. i'm being genuine, world." i spit in her face. i send her back to her place.

i'm here to prove something. this post is to prove something. first, i might want to explain that little conversation up there. um... she is the world. i am me. that is a conversation i had with the world while posting that photo up there. i figured i'd share it with you. it's something we all have to admit to ourselves eventually. i want you to ask yourself something. ask yourself right now. am i being genuine?

i'll answer that for you right now. yes. i am being genuine. you guys have to answer that question yourself, i can't answer that for you. i'd love to answer that for you and say yes, but i simply can't it's yours to answer.

hannah proves a point with her blog. we NEED to be genuine. if we're not being our true selves on blogger, aren't we transforming into someone we're not? some made up character that we've created perfectly to represent ourselves with? i'm not talking a pen name because your parents say not to use your real name on blogger. that is completely fine. i'm talking being someone we're not out of choice.

here's part of my about me page: 6. whenever i say so little, i mean so lot. 7. in an email, you never want me to write about ten words, it means i'm mad or my feelings have been hurt. this is part of my facts. this part is me talking. i've actually done that before, millions before.

people say they're being genuine, but i can tell that they're not. they're trying to be a perfect little blogger with zillions of followers and gazillions of comments. i've tried being that before, and i only ended up hurting myself in the long-run. popular bloggers, let's call them the A-list bloggers. A-list bloggers post the SAME EXACT THING.

one A-list posts a poem, the other one posts a different kind of poem. she posts a picture of the beach, another blogger writes about the beach. i mean, it's the SAME EXACT THING. it's practically plagiarism! (try saying that last sentence really fast five times, it sounds silly) people got on ME for plagiarism, and ya know what?! they do the SAME EXACT THING I DID! only "differently" in their case.

i've never expressed my feelings like this before. like, angrily in a post. but it doesn't matter. this is me, talking about being me; about being you! here's the "perfect blogger" someone might make up:

hi! i'm laney! (let's just say that's her name) i'm a photographer who also doubles as pop singer La-la-Laney who is currently trying to get her music career going. i wear only top designer clothes and i also charge people to sponsor for me. whenever someone wants to sponsor me, i make them pay for ad space instead of giving them free ad space for helping me! i love puppies and own a puppy store that bakes it's own treats, in california. i go to the beach all of the time in my limo to go surfing with One Direction. (if it's not obvious, this is not true. but it could be. but prolly not.)

and there's another thing that drives me NUTS! people CHARGING other people to sponsor for them! okay, i already wrote about that here. we're talking about individuality.

here is the definition of genuine: truly what something is said to be; authentic. okay, people get on your case for doing a name kind of like theirs, and they accuse you of plagiarism. but then they do the same kind of post that someone does. PLAGIARISM IS PLAGIARISM!

okay. so they accused you, but they do the same exact thing. here's what i'd immediately think: have you read Matthew 7:3-5?  if you haven't, you should. here it is: "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."

i have to admit, it is easier to see wrong in others than it is one's self. but you need to attempt, as hard as you can to remove your own plank. here's my translation of those verses: remove of your wrongs before you try to remove one else's wrongs.

be genuine. be authentic. be you.
