                                                      Summary:

When they were imprisoned by the new, brutal government, Whit and Whisty were barely able to escape with their lives. Discovering a hidden community of children like themselves--hunted by the state and with varying degrees of special talents--they have taken refuge underground. But the New Order is rapidly pushing in on them from all sides, and the pressure to stop the regime is mounting.

One day, as they rush to save another group of kids who are about to be captured by police, Whit and Whisty discover not only their own faces plastered to buildings on wanted posters, but also their parents'. When the hunting party sent out after the siblings always seems to be one step ahead of them, they begin to fear that it is controlled by a very, very powerful force. They are in much more danger than they feared...

With heart-pounding suspense and terrifying plot twists, this highly-anticipated sequel to James Patterson's newest series will thrill you until its jaw-dropping conclusion.

                                               My Thoughts

My thoughts on the book are well, all over the place. It has a very interesting story-line. The characters were at first just strange, but it started to fit after a little bit. Most of the time, I don't like books that flip-flop from one charcater to the other. But really, instead of them doing two completely different things, it's mainly just their point of view. Only in a few places I found that Whit and Wisty were in to different places, or situations. Now, I'm also not too big on magicky books either. But the Witch and the Wizard, it's a little more than magic! It's actually what an actual human might have to do. In several places I found them using spells and stuff, but other than the spell, they deal with it like actual people would. Altohugh, they're on a completely different plane than Earth. And there are different dimensions. Several Times they go through a portal to purposely get into a different dimension. So, it was a lot of fun reading! I couldn't put it down! I'd defintely recommend it if you need to read a book over the summer.

                                              Language

They used the Lord's name in vein so many times. They'd swear to G-d and say, Oh My G-d! Stuff like that, And they also mention h-ll a lot too. But other than that, there wasn't anyhting.

                                                Violence

There is a lot of violence, but I wouldn't say there was a lot compared to other books. They murder people in the Town Square just north of Shadowland in front of all the people that live in the Plane. Now, instead of people weaping over the people's deaths, they are literally cheering on for The One Who Is The One to kill them. They are blood-thirsty. They love seeing people vaporized as well. There are these "Lost Souls" that are these rabid vicious creatures who kill people very easily. They run around chewing on flesh, skin and sadly, the guts and also drinking the blood. Wisty and Whit think that they are some rabid dogs who've been treated badly, abused and stuff like that. Well, they turn out to be kids that the New Order had turned into slaves. Little does Whit know that his lost girlfriend, Celia, became a lost one and wanted to kill his sister.

                                       Romance/S-xuality

Flirting, a couple about-to-be-kisses.

  1. Hi Meena,

I like the dots template on this blog! :) And nice book review. I was considering getting a James Patterson book from the library the other day, but I ended up getting something else instead. When I go back I might have to check this one out. :)
