Larisieta Behind The Shadows, The Second Book in The Blood Games Series

            Chapter 1

Normally, dreams, are white puffy clouds! But, not here in Larisieta (lair-is-ee-tu). Komoko, our day ruler, plans our life. Prezi, Laika, is our mayor. He has to follow all the rules the point gives him. Which stinks! Prezi means mayor by the way.

Ever since our state turned into its own country, dreams of our own, have been forbidden. There is a day ruler, and night ruler. Komoko, our day ruler, controls our thoughts. And Lakaylavooka, our night ruler, controls our dreams. So, basically, every countly is well, robots. But, some things have been awfully scary lately! Anyway, I've been getting dreams lately about running away! Becoming a rebel! Rebellion. Ew! That word is revolting! But, I sure hope this night's dream will actually be under control tonight! Our leasend (curfew) is 10:45. If anyone is caught up after that time, the roof of your house will be lifted, and an enormous claw will lift you out to take you to Lakaylavooka where you have to deal it out with him! And, it never ends nice!

It's 10:00 sharp. I better put my baby bebey (brother) to bed. Rocking Lulay to sleep is hard. I do not like it at all! But, it's my job. I've got morning duties, and night shifts to do. There. He's asleep. I'll put him in his cotton filled cradle. 10:30 now. I should put on my night clothes. I grab my chicken-feed nightgown imported from Countly 5. My bonnet is perfectly fitted on my head. Along with my itchy cotton socks. "Vanessa Margaret Perish! Get to bed! I'm almost finished with my koogle and I'll bring it up in a minute!” I crawl into my chicken feather mattress and pull the yarn blankets over my chest. And I wish my one wish for the night. For a controlled dream.

                          ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thank Goodness! I did have a controlled dream! God always answers your wishes! Sometimes they’re not what you wanted, but, today, sadly, is the first time I have to go to this new school. It’s where everyone has to go to school, and well, learn. I hate school. I hated school when I was even in my old town. Oh, how do I miss Hannah City. Here, we’re in Dream City. They call it Dream City because, well, we have a million dreams each night, and can’t stop them.
          By now, I’m fully awake. I finally slip out from under my red, purple
and white blankets. And I get out of my chicken feed bed, groggy. I’m always groggy in the mornings, but not this groggy. I’m rubbing my eyes, placing my fleece white and black plaid robe on my back and tying a bow in the front.
          I walk to the door, and carefully twist the chocolate milk knob, and stare down at the floor. Chocolate Milk. Huh. Reminds me of my best friend in Spiritual, Riley. I thought that every morning. I crouch down on my knees and turn around, climbing down the ladder.
          I walk into the Master’s Bedroom. I remember sleeping with them when I was little. You see, when I was sent away from Spiritual, I was born a baby again, and assigned to parents. So, I slept in here until I was five years old. Because by then, I had to do smaller morning duties than what I do now, so, I was considered grown up. So now, I sleep upstairs in an itchy bed compared to the soft feather bed.
          Normally I can’t resist crawling in bed with my parents, but today, I don’t. Instead I shake them both rigorously, until my Mother wakes up, with her beautiful long eyelashes fluttering, her lips moving to make a soft, Good Morning. And my Father leaned over and gave my mom a little seed on her cheek that blossomed into a beautiful pink rose.
          By now, Lulay is up, and crying, as usual, and I run over to his cradle to pick him up, cuddle him into my arms, and sing a small lullaby to calm him down. Then, my mother startles me by saying, “Vanessa, can you please go to the kitchen and make us some Johnny Cakes and Strawberry Syrup with blueberries on the side?” I nod, puzzled a bit because, my Mother hates Johnny Cakes but, the puzzle is solved in a few moments. I need to catch the bus later on.
          I make Johnny Cakes lickety split. We made basic conversation. I didn’t really care. I then heard my alarm clock going off in my bedroom. It must be seven o’clock. I did hit the stupid snooze button on it this morning. I’ll press it again, and it’ll ring when it’s time to leave for the bus.
          I then trudge to the ladder, and up the steps, twist the knob so sharp it almost falls off. I see my clock vibrating, and jumping up and down. I run over to press the snooze button. Then I jump down from my door instead of using the ladder.
          “What did we talk about missy?” my mother asks. “Not, to jump down from my door.” I reply with a smirk on my face. She nods, and gave me a signal to get dressed.
          I walk back up there feeling that I wasted all of my energy. I unlock my trunk, and pull out a nice outfit that my mom can’t say no to. It was a very light pale baby blue blouse with ruffles near the button in the front. And I had a silken pale baby pink skirt that reached my ankles. I then grabbed my necklace. It had a rose on it. A rose that was, pink, red, white and purple. It was beautifully crafted form the finest sterling silver wire. I wear it everywhere.
I grab my book bag, and run out the door and jump down after shut off my
clock. I run to the bus stop, taking a pony-tail holder and some barettes out of my bag’s pocket. I’m a little early, so, I put my hair in a bun like I was supposed to do this morning.
          When the bus finally gets here, I hop on, and take a seat in the back. I walk through spit balls and licorice being thrown on my journey there. It was a long ride to the school. I decide to open the back door when we get there instead of getting yelled at by the bus driver.
          I walk to the office, grab my locker number, and go. I run to my locker, using the code, 48-6-30-5, it opens, I throw my stuff in there, lock it, and get away from it.
          When I turn the corner, I see the bully, well, I think it was a bully, because he’s big and he’s hitting a kid. I then turn around in the opposite direction, and hide in the shadows. But, while I’ve been in the shadows, I realize, I’m not at school anymore, I’m in a totally different parallel universe!
That's it! I'm almost done with Chapter Two, Then, I'll let you see it! Hope you love it!
